Following a free morning we fly to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia’s dazzling capital city.

Day 6 - Kuala Lumpur

Today we drive through the Lake Gardens, stop at the National Mosque and Independence Square, the Masjid Jamek, Central Market, and the 88-storey Petronas Twin Towers. This evening we'll enjoy a Kuala Lumpur night tour, visiting Chinatown, the Sri Maha Mariamman Temple and Alor Street - KL's food street - to whet our appetite for our traditional Malay dinner in a local restaurant.

Day 7 - Kuala Lumpur - Malacca

We continue to Malacca, a historic town showcasing a medley of Portuguese, Dutch, Islamic and Chinese architecture. Enjoy a cruise along Malacca River and visit a typical Peranakan house. We then spend a cultural afternoon at Cheng Hoon Teng Chinese temple, the oldest in Malaysia, Kampung Kling Mosque, and Bukit Cina, where over 12,000 Chinese graves are located, some dating back to the Ming dynasty.

Day 9 - Singapore

The National Orchid Garden, set within the UNESCO-listed Botanic Gardens, makes for a tranquil start to our exploration of Singapore. Our morning tour also includes a stop at the Merlion statue, Chinatown and Marina Bay Sands Skypark Observation Deck, offering breathtaking views of Singapore.

Day 11 - Singapore - Kanchanaburi

The Kranji War Memorial is a hillside cemetery that honours the men and women of the Commonwealth who died in the line of duty during World War II. After a morning visit, we head to the airport for our flight to Bangkok and onward transfer to Kanchanaburi, where we’ll stay for two nights.

Day 12 - River Kwai

We’ll visit the Thailand-Burma Railway Centre, a museum dedicated to the history of the Thai-Burma ‘Death Railway’, and on to the War Cemetery, the final resting place for over 6,000 allied prisoners of war. We then take a train ride on the notorious Bridge over the River Kwai. The original wooden version of the bridge was bombed several times and no longer exists, but the adjacent steel bridge, also the subject of numerous raids, was rebuilt after the war.

Day 13 - Kanchanaburi - Bangkok

We leave our hotel this morning and head to the community of Ban Nong Khao, a perfect place to learn about Thai culture. We''ll drive through rural rice fields to have a go at weaving, learn how to make the local sugar palm cake, as well as traditional crispy rice. This afternoon, we’ll make our way to Bangkok.
